Disney's Beauty and the Beast
2021 U.K. Tour and West End Revival
2023 Australia Tour

Reimagining Disney's Beauty and the Beast for it's 25th Anniversary was both an incredible honor and a creative challenge that spanned four and a half years of my life. Working with Producer Tom Schumacher, I was tasked with creating digital backdrops that would deceive audiences into seeing traditional stagecraft. My most innovative contribution was designing enchanted architectural "Scrolls" that moved in curvilinear paths throughout the castle, bringing the magic to life in unprecedented ways.
This new revised version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast premiered in the United Kingdom and then played on the West End and throughout Australia. You can see all of the amazing details in the costumes, lighting, and my scenic design. The video below also captures the movement of the scenic pieces and how they interact with Director and Choreographer Matt West's staging. When creating a design, I always think about how the scenery will be choreographed to shift and help tell the story.
