Christmas Tree
Universal Studios Japan

I had the great honor to be the Production Designer for the Universal Studios Japan Christmas Tree. It was my first time working with Dan Pérez who brilliantly guided the collaboration with me and his team in Japan. I submitted a number of ideas and we ended up with a tree that captured some of the Americana Christmas Kitsch elements of the 50's and 60's —Nutcrackers, Candy, Candy Canes, Shooting Stars, Golden Cherubs with Trumpets, and a Classic Star adorning the top. We had the decorations sit pro of the tree to add more dimension. Norm Schwab designed the lighting and sequencing for the tree and decorations. George Czinkota of Czinkota Studios Ltd created the 3D model of the Golden Cherubs. At the time, it was the Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Lights on an Artificial Tree."
